I have studied the theology of Billy Graham some and I have noticed a huge change in his theology. Graham is orthodox in his theology, however, in recent years, he has changed many of his views. Graham believed in an exclusive gospel. He made it clear many times that Jesus was the only hope one had to be saved. However, he has recently changed that conviction and seems to now be an inclusivist.
Why? I do not believe that he has completely rejected everything he believed over the many decades of his ministry. I believe that perhaps his changed in some orthodox teaching is the result of his age and position in America. Graham, like the Pope, has become an icon for religion. And rightly so. Sadly, just a position means that you have to always be helping the poor, condemning the rich, and being politically correct, and I fear that Graham has fallen for the latter.
In the following video is a clip of Graham making it clear that he believes that there will be some people in heaven who had never heard of Jesus Christ or put their faith in Him. That is blasphemous. I love Billy Graham, and I consider it an honor to see him up close at a Crusade he had in Louisville, KY. However, I cannot support such a change in theology, and it is important that we see this change and start to think about this issue since it is the prevalent view in America. American hates exclusivism. That makes us the object of their hate. But we must not compromise this conviction, because men's souls lie in the balance.
Here is also a clip from John MacArthur pointing this out:
